Both grades comply with operational conditions 10 bar at 70 °C however the standard pipe has a thicker aluminium core and even higher performance in fail safe conditions.

A PE-RT or PE-Xc pipe expands more because it is a solid plastic pipe. A RIXc or standard pipe has an aluminium core and therefore expands less.

There is physical and chemical cross-linking. Tubes are cross-linked to optimise the strength and durability of the tube.

Chemical cross-linking is achieved by adding peroxide or silane to polyethylene. A physical cross-linking is created by exposing the tube to electron beams. Henco uses physical cross-linking because it is the purest cross-linking.

The test plugs may be only used for up to 3 months under a maximum constant pressure of 10 bar. The plugs are not suitable for making permanent sealings and are purely for testing the system. They are not reusable

Henco naked pipes are Euro Class E, in some instances when embedded Henco produce a special sprinkler range that is approved by VdS.

Yes, for example as ground pipes. In this case, we recommend combining the Henco standard multilayer pipe with the PVDF press fittings. It is best to protect the pipe additionally with, for example, a PVC protective tube. Please note that Henco inspection certificates only apply to indoor installations.

Yes, at a maximum pressure of 10 bar and ambient temperatures between -10°C and 40°C.

Yes, the pipes may be exposed to sunlight for a short period of time. Polyethylene is not UV-resistant, so Henco tubes should not be permanently exposed. For specific outdoor applications, Henco can produce unique UV-resistant pipes on request.

The minimum temperature for Henco multilayer pipes and PVDF press fittings is -20°C. For solid plastic pipes, the minimum temperature is 7°C.

It can if the paint is water based.

We recommend draining Henco pipes in good time if there is a risk of freezing. To prevent freezing, pipes can be thoroughly insulated or fitted with a heat tape.

Our internal threads are always straight gas threads. Marked with G. G stands for ISO 228. In addition, our external threaded fittings are always conical threads. Marked with R and ISO 7/1. R stands for tapered. To have a good seal, a conical thread must always be tapered into a straight thread.

Female threaded fittings have straight threads and only taper should be screwed in to have good sealing. Only when there is a seal such as a flat seal or o-ring can it be done with straight thread.

Couplings with flat seal can only be combined with straight thread.

Henco tubes up to and including 26 mm diameter can be bent with the appropriate tools from the Henco product range. For pipes with a diameter from 32mm onwards, it is best to use couplings.
