Only if the soil does not contain any chemicals and the pipe is protected from external damage. Brass fittings should always be protected from corrosion and we also recommend protecting PVDF fittings from external impact with, for example, a PVC pipe.

The insulation is vapour-proof, but not suitable for long-term outdoor use or applications in moist sandy soil. If the insulation must nevertheless be used in those conditions, it is best to apply a waterproof protective tube (such as a PVC pipe) around the insulation.

Yes, the pipes may be exposed to sunlight for a short period of time. Polyethylene is not UV-resistant, so Henco tubes should not be permanently exposed. For specific outdoor applications, Henco can produce unique UV-resistant pipes on request.

The minimum temperature for Henco multilayer pipes and PVDF press fittings is -20°C. For solid plastic pipes, the minimum temperature is 7°C.

Yes, when Henco multilayer pipes are combined with PVDF or brass press fittings with yellow gas marking. For diesel applications, the sealing material should be HNBR (hydrogenated nitrile rubber). HNBR is a type of rubber that is resistant to high temperatures and petroleum-based oils. This is only the case with gas-marked Henco products.

This is currently being investigated, but we cannot guarantee it yet.

Only Henco standard multilayer pipes and PVDF fittings qualify for this. The Henco brass products may not come into contact with seawater.

We recommend draining Henco pipes in good time if there is a risk of freezing. To prevent freezing, pipes can be thoroughly insulated or fitted with a heat tape.

Yes, and for fittings this applies to both PVDF and brass fittings. For that application, the correct ratio is 45% glycol and 55% water. The minimum temperature is -10°C.

Our internal threads are always straight gas threads. Marked with G. G stands for ISO 228. In addition, our external threaded fittings are always conical threads. Marked with R and ISO 7/1. R stands for tapered. To have a good seal, a conical thread must always be tapered into a straight thread.

Female threaded fittings have straight threads and only taper should be screwed in to have good sealing. Only when there is a seal such as a flat seal or o-ring can it be done with straight thread.

Couplings with flat seal can only be combined with straight thread.

The 24P-/25P fitting and a jacketed or pre-insulated pipe.

The PE foam has a solid PE outer shell with grid structure in red or blue that is also vapour-tight. This structure protects the foam from damage, thus maintaining its insulating effect even during rough construction work.

Henco tubes up to and including 26 mm diameter can be bent with the appropriate tools from the Henco product range. For pipes with a diameter from 32mm onwards, it is best to use couplings.

Henco press fittings with a diameter of 14 mm up to 90 mm (and soon 110 mm) must be pressed with the Henco BE-profile. The BE-profile is the same as the TH-profile for diameters up to 26 mm. The TH-profile can therefore also be used to press couplings up to diameter 26 mm. From a diameter of 32 mm onwards, jaws with the BE profile must always be used.

Each tool has its own maintenance guidelines. An instruction booklet is always supplied with the pressing tools and the guidelines can also be consulted on the manufacturer's website.

Can Henco tubes be rinsed with hydrogen peroxide/sodium hypochlorite/chlorine dioxide?
