Hoko Werkendam Chooses Henco Again for Maritime Project
During the construction of a tanker vessel for fuel transportation in Heusden, the Netherlands, installation company Hoko Werkendam once again relied on Henco’s solutions. Over a four-month project period, various Henco products were integrated into the onboard piping network, including the new Henco Pro-Flow Manifold, synthetic fittings, and conduit pipes. Thanks to the combination of high-quality materials, maritime certifications, and a broad product range, Henco contributed to the successful completion of the project.
Confidence in Henco Piping Systems Through Years of Collaboration
For Hoko Werkendam, choosing Henco was a natural decision. The company has been working with Henco products for many years and knows their quality, reliability, and ease of installation from experience.
"We almost always work with Henco. The combination of quality, price, and the extensive product range is what makes the difference for us," says Arie Hoeke of Hoko Werkendam.
In addition to product quality, the required certifications played an important role. Shipbuilding projects are subject to strict requirements for materials and installations, making certified solutions essential.
"For shipbuilding projects, products must comply with specific requirements. Thanks to the Veritas and DNV certifications, we are confident that we can meet the standards and expectations set by the client."
First Positive Experiences with the Henco Pro-Flow Manifold
For this project, a combination of Henco Pro-Flow, synthetic fittings, and conduit pipes was selected. The broad product range and product availability made it possible to choose the right solution for every application. In addition, the team worked with the new Henco Pro-Flow Manifold for the first time, and the feedback was immediately positive.
"The manifold performs perfectly. A major advantage is its low weight compared to a traditional brass manifold," says Reguillio Nelom, Key Account Manager at Henco.
"In addition, its compact design and high-quality finish allow installations to be completed faster and more efficiently. That is a significant advantage in today’s installation industry."
Building Reliable Piping Installations Together

The collaboration between Hoko Werkendam, the client, and Henco ran smoothly throughout the entire project. Thanks to their familiarity with the products and the technical support provided, challenges were addressed quickly, ensuring the project remained on schedule.
"We are very familiar with Henco products by now, and our clients are also highly satisfied with their performance. This enables us to deliver reliable installations that can continuously withstand temperatures of up to 70°C without any issues."
The Challenges of Working Onboard
As with many shipbuilding projects, the greatest challenge was not the installation itself but the planning and coordination of the various parties working onboard. Operating within a confined space requires meticulous organization and close cooperation among all disciplines involved.
"Several parties work simultaneously on a vessel within a very limited space. Everyone has to perform their tasks in what feels like the size of a postage stamp and sometimes literally gets in each other’s way. Nevertheless, we once again succeeded in completing the project successfully within the planned timeframe."
