Successful Renovation of a Drinking Water System in a Large Hotel in Copenhagen with Henco Alupex Systems

In the summer of 2024, a large hotel in Copenhagen undertook the renovation of its drinking water system, including supply lines, risers, and branches. For this project, they relied on the expertise of Lemvigh Müller, the Danish distributor of Henco. Thanks to their professional guidance and high-quality products, including Henco’s Alupex pipe systems ranging from 26 mm to 90 mm, the project was carried out efficiently. One of the most notable aspects of the renovation was the use of stainless steel/PVDF plastic transitions and stainless steel press ball valve connections, installed by Teknofire, a highly experienced installer in this field.

Easy and Efficient Installation

Teknofire, responsible for the installation, expressed great satisfaction with the collaboration and the products used. Working with the larger pipe dimensions, particularly 75 mm and 90 mm, proved to be highly successful. The installation process was greatly simplified, as there was no need to lift heavy pressing tools. Pressing was performed using a floor press device, after which the pipes were easily mounted in brackets and connected with Henco Supersize fittings—completely tool-free. Another key advantage was that the pipes did not require deburring after cutting or sawing, saving time and reducing the workload for the installers. A representative from Teknofire noted, “The installation was easy and very fast. Working with the larger dimensions, 75 mm and 90 mm, was particularly successful because no heavy lifting of pressing machines was required.”

The client and project consultant, Quantum, represented by Thomas Noer, also expressed great satisfaction with choosing Henco as the supplier of the Alupex pipes. He emphasized that Henco offers all fittings with stainless steel inserts, a significant advantage for the project. Thomas Noer explained that one of the greatest benefits of this solution was the quiet installation process, which eliminated the need for noisy tools. This ensured that hotel guests were not disturbed during the renovation and allowed the hotel to avoid scheduling closure days, ultimately preventing any revenue loss. “I’m pleased with the choice of Alupex manufacturer. Henco offers all fittings with stainless steel inserts, which was a major advantage. We received a solution that was fast and flexible,” said Thomas Noer. Additionally, the solution using Henco’s stainless steel ball valve with a press connection on Alupex provided cost savings by eliminating the need for time-consuming sealing and assembly. This was yet another factor that contributed to the swift and efficient execution of the project.
